Close to Ueda, one has to use a local train and 5min walk to get there, this was a great surprise of a onsen.
- Baths are either made of marble (white and green types) or stones very close to. They gives a roman look to both ofuro. There is a rotenburo but couldn't get in due to walking issues (steps :P). The water is a bit salty, one can feel like floatnig at times.
- Rooms are both large and clean. This doesn't describe the 1930' athmosphere, one can spend a lot of time catching up details.
- Dining room looks a bit like a huntnig lodge and meals were both excellent.
- But the absolute top was the garden linking the rooms. Both sundown or sunrise reveals a wonder. This onsen should be best, better, during the hanami or koyo seasons.
Nitpicking a bit, more onsens please.

I wanted to spend a relaxing time, so I stayed for three nights.
The bath, appearance and food were wonderful, and I was happy to see the employees changing their costumes morning, noon and evening to make the atmosphere more exciting.
In the room, it's warm and warm.
I was deeply immersed in Taisho Roman.
Thank you very much.
I'd love to hear it again.

This is an inn of the Association for the Protection of Japanese Cultural Heritage.
I wanted to increase the stamp of the secret hot spring party that I have, so I made a reservation from the website.
When I arrived, I asked them to stamp it in their stamp book, but they refused, saying that I could only stamp it by phone reservation, so I was repulsed from the beginning.
However, the atmosphere in the lobby is wonderful, it is a corridor that passes over the koi swimming pond, and the view of the garden from there is wonderful, and I was glad to come.
You can also type-slip your room to see if it was Taisho or early Showa. Closing the window is not a half-rotating fastener, as is often the case with sashes, but a retro screw-in fastener.
This is something that can only be done in a room that really preserves the old setup.
I remember seeing it at Chojukan and Sekizenkan.
So the rooms and other architecture are so great, it's worth seeing on its own.
However, the most important thing for me is the hot springs.
As for the hot springs, it was a shame.
First of all, the website says that the source of the water is kakenashi, but actually, when I enter the tub, it is extremely warm in the morning and night.
Thinking that there was no way to maintain this warm water, I walked around the tub and found another outlet. I thought it was a circulatory filtration system. I think so.
If you take a look at the description of the hot springs in the dressing room, it says that the circulation filtration system is used to maintain the proper temperature in every bath.
HP does not reuse hot springs! So, what is this circulator? Is it just a heating device, just like a home bath?
It is difficult to understand, and in any case I left the bath thinking that it is not a pure source of water.
I think that the source kakenagashi is where the temperature of the tub is adjusted by adjusting the amount of hot water.
Another thing is that this tub is too lukewarm. It is very dangerous because you could slip and fall.
I went to various slimy alkaline sources, and although the water was slimy, the tub was of course a little slimy, but I had never been so slimy before. It's just an imagination, but are you neglecting the frequency or politeness of cleaning?
The retro interior bath is lovely from an architectural point of view, so I have very mixed feelings.
As for the food, it was pretty good.
The sukishabu-nabe of Shinshu apple beef was especially delicious.
When you're eating it, should the attendant come over and bring you some rice? I asked him to come and have dinner after all the alcohol was finished because I am someone who wants to eat after all the alcohol was finished.
But another person comes and can I bring you food? And I said, "What, I just delivered the request, what's the point?" I was brought rice while I was thinking about it. It's also a bit disappointing that we haven't been able to get this kind of side contact. I wouldn't mind a cheaper inn, but it's a high-class inn. I would like to ask for high-class service.
It's also disappointing that they don't serve coffee after breakfast, and if you want to drink coffee, you have to pay.
So I left the inn with very mixed feelings.
One trip was enough.
