Hotel Route Inn Isahaya Inter

Stayed at the hotel during the week for business. Location is a bit far from Nagasaki, but was a good location for our business in Isahaya. There are several decent restaurants within easy walking distance, including a really good nice little sushi restaurant. The hotel itself is very basic. The rooms are small as usual, and there is one source of water between the sink and shower. The hotel was quiet, and reasonably clean. There was a fairly large breakfast, but as usual this far from a main city, the breakfast was basically Japanese (meaning hot asian dishes). The hotel also had a public bath, but I didn't try it. Overall, if you have business in Isahaya, this is probably your best choice.

The hotel is a part of a large group of hotels in Japan. This one is located in Isahaya, a town about 50 km from both Nagasaki City and Unzen Peninsula. It is a good choice if you are driving around Kyushu with a rental car like we did. It is a business hotel that has rather small but comfortable rooms. There is a free wifi in the rooms and lobby. Free coffee is available in the lobby in the morning. There is a buffet breakfast, which was not particularly great, but it had a basic variety of Japanese and international foods. The breakfast was included in our room rate. The hotel also has an onsen hot spring spa on the premises at lobby level. This is free for guests to use. As in many Japanese onsen hotels nowadays, the women guests get a pass card to access their side of the spa. This way no unwanted males can disturb their bathing. On men' side there is no pass, you just walk in. The indoor hot water pool is rather small but quite enough to relax in. The hotel has free parking for guests. Around the hotel there are many fast food and other restaurants. Many of these are within walking distance on the main road.

I had trouble finding affordable accommodation in the city if Nagasaki and did not want to stay in a hostel. I found this hotel online and it looked good. It is a 15-minute walk to the Nishi-Isahaya train station which has (at least) hourly train service to Nagasaki - about 30 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet (even though there are several pachinko parlors nearby) and you can walk to several restaurants. A Lawson Station convenience store is across the street. The room is typical size for a business hotel and a buffet breakfast is included in the nightly rate. My room was always spotless as were the common areas of the hotel. Front desk and dining room staff are friendly and professional. Very good value for the money.
