The Guernsey Hotel & Resort

I come to this area for site-seeing and skiing. This hotel is quite remote. It is located around 10km away from the other hotspring resorts. So be prepared to drive a bit more to reach it but it is still quite close to the Kuju Forest Park Ski Area. Overall its a modern style hotel with a japanese style bathroom. The room is clean and tidy. The bed is big and comfort. Wifi reception is gd and internet is quick, Can view the Aso mountain outlook from the room and it is just fantastic to see the drawn in the room. No complaint about the room quality. The only minus point about the room is hotel won't provide daily room service to you unless u request for it. There are not much comments/reviews about this hotel in major international travel website. Reviews are mainly written at japanese in japan's travel website. From the japanese reviews saying the meal at the hotel restaurant is brilliant, they serve top-class japanese's wagyu (beef) from the farm around the Aso mountain area. However, i didn't have the chance to taste it as it requires reservation days in advance. Hotel staff doesn't speak fluent English but they are very kind and helpful. The hotel staff at night was particularly friendly which he prepares some hot towel and hot green tea for us appoint our return from a whole day skiing. I hope the hotel management read this comment and notice his contribution. His kind act is the major reason i am writing this comment (FYI, this is my first comment on TripAdvisor). If you are looking for a modern style and reasonable priced hotel with hot spring facility in the Aso mountain area, give this one a try. May be it will amaze you.

If you looking for a hotel to place your head for the night after a driving trip or looking for a place to base yourself for exploring the beautiful surrounding areas, the Guernsey is probably the right place for you. Large rooms and clean rooms with affordable price are a huge draw and would be with most basic amenities covered for. It has a public bath but the spring water wasn't not particularly hot. Note that since it is located in a relatively isolated area, please have your own food prepared when checking in as the restaurant doesn't seem to be open for dinner service with reservation and there is no room service available.
