Well its certainly in a very quiet area. There is a clean outdoor pool but no handrail to access. The pool loungers are hard plastic with no comfortable covers There is a small sandy beach adjacent to the hotel which is very unspoilt and uncomercialised . Totally unspoilt. The staff speak limited English so Google translate certainly helps. You need to book dinner a night in advance or pay an extra 500 yen for on the day booking. We enjoyed breakfast with a wide range of choice, especially Japanese choices There are no shops nearby so you need to book a taxi to buy essential provisions or to find other things to do. A car would help. The local bus service is very limited. The bedroom was large and airy with outdoor sitting area, overlooking wild trees and plants. Large ensuite. I'm sorry that I hesitated before booking the Best Western Okinawa Onna Beach, not remembering that it's been our experience that Best Westerns outside of the USA are often better that what we have found at BW's in America. It's not the Ritz, but it doesn't pretend to be, and I'm comfortable giving this hotel five stars in its category. The BW Onna Beach met our needs perfectly; it was important to us that it's fairly close to OIST (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology), the value was very good (it seemed to us), it's in a pretty quiet location, it's right on what seemed to be a nice private beach, the pool was open during the low season (unlike the one at the underwhelming Hilton American Village where we stayed one night), the BW is clean, their breakfast buffet was ample, the ocean view from our third floor room and balcony was wonderful, the landscaping and lighting is exceptional (all around the hotel), the and they even rent bicycles. This BW seemed like it might be focused more on accommodating Japanese-speaking travelers than international visitors; but if you want an All-American experience in an environment where everyone speaks English perfectly, then you might prefer sleeping at the Hilton American Village, paying more for a Vegas or Orlando experience, and only eating at A&W. Next time I won't hesitate before booking this nice Best Western.

I used it when travelling with my elderly mother. Even though I booked a room with a deluxe ocean view so that I could spend my time in my room gazing out at the sea without having to go out in the hot weather, when I arrived, the view outside the window was entirely "forest" and there was a chorus of cicadas all day. Even if I wanted to see the sea view while being blown away by the wind, I couldn't because the only such space was a smoking area and there were no chairs there. The staff were not smiling and office-bound, and there was no sense of hospitality. It was a very disappointing and frustrating inn because I had done a lot of research and decided on it for my mother.
