I stayed overnight on a mystery tour. All rooms are suitable for Lake Biwa. It's all-inclusive, with alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and snacks available next to the lobby. All you can drink at dinner. There are also public baths. The room was also very large with three beds even though I was alone. But there are three elevators, but they come late and you don't know which one is coming until just in time. Sometimes you want to ride, but there are other customers on board and it's too full. There are two large dining venues, and there's a wide variety to choose from, but there are so many customers and the aisles are so narrow that you can hear them flipping over trays here and there, and the staff come to clean the floor every time. Even when I tried to get in at the same time as the public baths opened at 6am, there were too many customers and I had to wait in line for the washroom naked, which was a buzzy and restless atmosphere due to the large number of customers and the unsuitable size of the place.

This is my second time staying here, the first time was last year. Just as was the case last year, the front desk gets crowded and long lines form once check-in begins at 3:00 PM. There was one difference from last year, that is I had to decide on a time for the next morning's breakfast right then and there. It seems there are limited reservation slots for specific time slots, and the slots fill up starting from the 7:00 AM opening time. If you want to have breakfast when the restaurant opens, I recommend checking in at 3:00 PM.

It's such a big hotel, as you're writing about. Breakfast venues are chaotic (they don't fit in a restaurant, so they're routed to bleak conference rooms or banquet halls), and elevators can wait a long time. The lobby lounge, which is free of charge, is also immowashed. But don't you think that's what it is? There are hot springs and quiet areas, so as long as you don't miss the right time of day, you can refresh yourself to a certain extent. I guess it's just like the fact that we're "not" catering to customers with ACCOR status in Japan (though some staff don't know what that means when there's a physical priority check-in lane at the front desk. I think this needs refresher education.) The welcome drink at ACCOR was a delight with local beer. It is within walking distance to Nagahama Station, so I actually recommend having dinner in the city on the other side of the station.
