Biwako Grand Hotel

To celebrate my father-in-law's 77th birthday, I stayed with two families and a large group of my mother-in-law. I chose the guest room with an open-air bath, which was good because the room was spacious and kept clean, although I felt the building was old. The meal was prepared in a separate room due to the large number of people. Every side dish was hearty, and the growing children were satisfied. However, as for the public baths in the same building, it is a pity that there was no water bath, even though there was a sauna. I didn't go to the annex because it was too much trouble, so I don't know the other public baths. Also, when I went to the public bath first thing in the morning, I came across a staff member teaching new people, but I was tired of the language and it ruined my feelings. If you’re looking for a way to make sure you’re open 24 hours a day, you can close your doors and teach them when there are no customers. It was nice to be able to stay in a room with an open-air bath at a reasonable price, but it didn't feel right for me.

I stayed in a room in the west wing of the hotel. There was a toilet and a shower only room, but there were two large baths and I could enjoy the hot spring. I had the food in a private room, but I was very satisfied with the food that was carefully made, one dish at a time, and that was unique to Omi, and could only be eaten there for local consumption. There were plenty of souvenirs from the shop. The innkeeper was very kind and I was able to spend a relaxing time. I enjoyed the goodness of Japanese inns.

The couple enjoy the hot spring inn. I stayed overnight on my way back from Osaka. I wasn't expecting it because it's a five star inn and a big hotel called the Grand Hotel, but the food didn't taste as good as I expected. I couldn't eat anything that looked like tsukudani, grilled fish or fish on steamed sushi because it was too raw. It said it was a recommended course for inns, but the food we chose was one of the three worst inns we have ever visited. The room was well cleaned and the yukata and bedding were comfortable without any moisture. The public baths are fine. It is a hot spring in the Kansai area, so I hope the food improves.
