Atami Red House

We stayed here with friends for 1 night during golden week. The place is not in Atami downtown, nor by the beach. However, it offered ok size (very thin walls) rooms and good parking on facility, which is not easy to come by. The host welcomed us nicely and gave us information about the area.

Husband, son and I spent three nights here during our three-week holiday in Japan. The owners are very kind and helpful, providing transport to and from the station not only when we arrived and left, but also for our day trips out of Ajiro. They were able to recommend good local restaurants and places to visit. Great Japanese breakfasts!

We arrived late at Ajiro station at 7:45pm and communicated to the owner in advance. The owner kindly offered to pick us up. The pension was about 15 mins from station and was on the mountain side but with a nice view of the village nearby and the sea. The facilities in the pension were quite new. Room was nice and clean. The owner also offered to drive us to a nearby local sushi restaurant for dinner. We had omakase that night and chatted / drank with the sushi owner and guests for the whole night. Great recommendation. Restaurants and convenient stores were about 10-15 mins walk from the pension down the hill. We forgot to order breakfast and only realised it in the morning. The staff was so kind to arranged breads and coffee to refresh us. Great services. When checkout, the staff said that we somehow were overcharged with price for 3 persons instead of 2, she insisted to refund back the difference to us and would inform the booking website. What a honest service and deserved my full respect. Again, the owner kindly offered to drive us to Ajiro station after checkout. What a nice and hard-working guy.
