Okura Act City Hotel Hamamatsu

I traveled alone to Japan and Korea, and on the fourth night of my itinerary, I traveled from Otsu to Hamamatsu, and stayed overnight at Okura Act City Hotel Hamamatsu. Okura Act City Hotel Hamamatsu is a 5-star hotel affiliated with Okura Hotels & Resorts in Act City Hamamatsu, which stands in front of Hamamatsu Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen and JR Tokaido Main Line and is the tallest hotel in Shizuoka Prefecture. On the day of our stay, we arrived in Hamamatsu by transferring from Seta, our previous accommodation, to a local train for about four hours, so check-in came around 5pm. Once you enter the entrance, there is a large lobby with interiors that symbolize Hamamatsu, the "City of Music", such as piano keyboard pattern tiles and golden pillars with trumpet motifs. Check-in is done at the front desk. I booked the room and paid the room rate in advance from a certain hotel reservation site, so I could check in smoothly by simply giving my name. I booked a standard twin room because the single room was fully booked this time, but they upgraded me to a deluxe twin room. The refreshing and calming design of the rooms in young grass and beige colours is too large and comfortable for one person with two semi-double beds, sofa and low table and large desk. The tiled, bright and spacious bathroom had a bathtub and glass shower booth. The room is well cleaned and kept clean, but I was concerned about the black mold growing on the tile joints in the shower booth. The north-facing guest room on the 37th floor had a panoramic view of Hamamatsu Castle Park and other parts of the city, with the mountains of the Southern Alps in the distance. Four bottles of tea, sencha tea and plastic bottled water were provided free of charge in the guest room and a capsule-type espresso machine was installed. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are available in large bottles and mini tubes in the bathroom, and bathroom amenities such as toothbrushes, razors, swabs and face care lotions are available. Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms. The fast connection and stable connection made watching videos stress-free. There are several restaurants and cafes in the hotel, Act City Hamamatsu. In addition, the area around JR Hamamatsu Station and Enshu Railway Shin-Hamamatsu Station, a few minutes' walk from the hotel, is a convenient area for shopping and dining, with large commercial facilities such as Zaza City Hamamatsu and Maywan, as well as many restaurants and general stores. This time, I was happy to find that I was able to make a reservation for 14,500 yen even though I booked two weeks before the check-in date, so it was a great deal. However, I left Hamamatsu soon after I checked out, so I was very sorry that I couldn't enjoy the hotel service and the gourmet sightseeing in Hamamatsu.

Located in a pleasant neighbourhood , this hotel provides very good rooms and other facilities. Views from the higher floors are beautiful. Buffet breakfast is good. The staff is courteous and helpful.

Stayed here while attending a conference in Hamamatsu. Comfortable beds (but a little hard) and decently sized rooms. Breakfast buffet had lots of Western and Japanese selections and were pretty good compared to some hotel breakfast buffets I’ve had. We had some issues with the room’s mini fridge when we got there, but the staff were helpful in quickly resolving it. A bit pricy but not excessively so for the level it is. Quiet rooms and hallways. Conveniently located in Hamamatsu right across the street from Music City and the Shinkansen station (and only an hour or so ride from Tokyo). Pretty quick bus ride from the station down to the ocean if you want to spend an afternoon there.
