A “Deluxe Japanese-Style Room with Open-Air Bath and River View (Non-Smoking)” was booked. In fact, a smaller apartment with Garden View (view of construction site, considerable noise) was provided without open-air bathroom and without river view. In addition, Shirakabe Guest House did not provide the booked room type as reserved, and the onsen area was in very poor condition (dirty and with an unpleasant smell). I left the property after the first night; the second night was not used. The owner assured me of the refund of that night, but this has not been done to date. I have merfach via booking.com to contact the owner of the Shirakabe. Unsuccessful, see the answer from booking.com (attachments) I therefore request a partial chargeback of JPY 59’257 (service not provided as described / guaranteed refund not provided).

Amazing ryokan! Delicious food and immaculate service. We were so sad to leave. Everyone at Shirakabe made us feel so special. It looks better in person than in photos! The onsen are perfect and the products smell fabulous.

Lovely ryokan. The building is very nice - traditional Japanese style with a nice garden and great outside baths. The room was great with a river view and the food good. Also we were travelling with a young baby and they were very accommodating. Thanks!
