very beautiful environment spacious and comfortable room with an outdoor hot bath the restrooms, however, are a bit outdated for accommodation of this level

The facility is old but clean. The staff were refreshed and everyone was satisfied with the warm response. The dish should be served in a Showa-style bowl, with a retro feel that is not bad, and if a little more refined, it will be enough to compete with foreign companies. There is a lot of pain for foreign visitors here and there in the facility, but this is also not unremarkable. It is one of the lodgings I would like to revisit with a very good impression that the enthusiasm of the staff for hospitality can be felt in various situations.

We had an amazing experience staying here for 2 nights at the beginning of our Japan trip. The service was exceptional, the food was amazing, and the hotel grounds were beautiful. My room was on the first floor so had a private onsen on the terrace of which we definitely took advantage. The hotel staff was extremely hospitable and accommodating. They had a free shuttle to the 2 local train stations and the nearby shrine area, which was very convenient. The shuttle does run only during certain times, stopping at 5:30pm so keep that in mind. The cost of our room also included Japanese dinner and breakfast, all very delicious. We were joking that this set the bar for the trip too high without us having to make any decisions. If you're in the Nikko area and looking for a place to stay, highly recommend the Okunoin Hotel Tokugawa. We will certainly be back.
