Grand Central Hotel, Tokyo

I stayed here for 2 weeks in a twin room with my sibling. The location was perfect! Kanda a 5min walk, shops all around and plenty of food places. We had no issues with this hotel, all staff were really friendly and cleaned our room whenever we wanted. The room was small but not as small as others I’ve seen, we made it work and we have 5 suitcases plus the many shopping bags! I look to return to Japan next year and hope to be able to book to stay here again knowing I feel safe there and it’s in a good location.

Absolutely fantastic experience here. Stayed for 12 nights over September/October, and would 100% use this hotel again. Staff are super helpful, despite my limited Japanese they tried their hardest to make sure I had everything I needed. The check in was effortless, and any required toiletries are available in the main foyer of the hotel. I had to borrow an iron a few times to iron clothes, and they provide an ironing board too which is super helpful. The room was great, for what I needed. Yes, small, but this is central Tokyo so that was expected. The bed was crazy comfortable, and the provided pillow was great. However, if you prefer a softer (or harder) pillow, they have them available in the lobby to collect. Had a great nights sleep. Walls were not as thin as I was expecting, so I was never woken up by neighbouring rooms. Bathroom was fine, using a traditional Japanese "short but deep" bath. Location wise, this place was PERFECT for me. Literal walking distance from Akihabara, and the hotel is within 5 minutes of Kanda JR station which is on the Yamanote line, basically allowing you to get anywhere in Tokyo effortlessly. Also, there are a huge number of bars and restaurants around the local area, as well as a huge number of convenience stores and a number of supermarkets. However, on an evening the hotel still felt safe and quiet, which I thought was quite an acheivement. In general, I will absolutely consider this hotel again if I head back to Tokyo

Hotel is located in Kanda and is about a 5 minute walk from JR and Metro station and is 1 JR stop from Tokyo Station. There is about 5 Familymarts within a 5 minute walk of the hotel which are open 24/7. There's also a vending machine selling drinks and alcohol at reception and on 2nd floor. Great service from front desk staff. It has self service check in and check out. They do provide some disposable toiletries to the right of the reception desk like toothbrushes, combs etc. Rooms are quite small but I stayed in a single room by myself and it was the right size for me personally. Bed was more like a small double than a single. Only issue I had was that the pillows were quite firm and the Aircon wasn't so great. Bathroom was small and compact but that is quite common for Japanese hotels. For the cheap price and excellent location for public transport, it is one of the best hotels overall I've stayed in.
