Hotel Monterey Akasaka

Amazing hotel with plenty of amenities to make your stay more pleasurable. From free toiletries , apple juice, green tea and hair products. The beds are comfortable and the location is close to the metro station. Highly recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night and thus we wanted just a simple place to catch some sleep after the long flight from New York as we were embarking on a cruise the following day, yet did not want to stay at an airport hotel. The hotel has very reasonable rates (for Tokyo) and a fairly good location and nearby public transportation. We booked a double room (low floor)...we knew it would be a small room, and it indeed was very small. It was "tight" for the two of us, but it was fine for one night. The room was very clean and the bathroom was also clean. The hotel provides amenities like pajamas, toothbrush/paste, and a shaving razor/cream. We did not encounter any disturbing street noise. We arrived before the check-in time of 3:00 PM and thus if we wanted to check in earlier at 12:00 Noon it was about $30.00 more. Many hotels as a gesture of goodwill not charge for an early check-in if they have the room available...so this was a "not so nice" part of what is overall a good 3* hotel. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but heard that it was very good. Overall this hotel provided clean accommodation at a reasonable value.

Pros location is good train close by convenience store for snacks close by parks close by. Cons rooms are small, laundry service is very expensive $8 to wash and dry a t-shirt. Closer laundry near by is a cab ride away so if you pack light you will have issues for an extended stay. Affluent area so cool cars drive by constantly. Good restaurants near by but found the best restaurants were 15 min train ride away.
