Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier

Fantastic location in the heart of Ginza, full with shops and eateries around. Upmarket and safe to walk around at night. The rooms are not very spacious but acceptable for a city accommodation in Japan. Hotel atmosphere and staff were great and helpful. Amenities need to be collected by customers from a common area near the restaurant downstairs. Great value for money. Rooms were clean and mine came with a great Tokyo skyline view. No high noise level in the rooms. Loved the ambience of the hotel, we stayed as a family of 3 and had booked 2 twin rooms.

It was my third stay at this hotel, two nights in early May. I once again enjoyed great views, compact but well-designed spaces, generous complimentary products, delicious breakfasts and a comfortable bed. The staff were very nice, and helpful. The location is great, on the border of Ginza and Shimbashi, close to stations, shops, eateries and various sights. As a member of the MGH Rewards Club I was delighted to be able to check in at 2pm, especially as I'd arrived in Tokyo that morning after an overnight flight. The noon checkout was also valuable as I'd had to change my travel arrangements, involving a later departure from the city. The all-countries charger was appreciated as it meant I could get multiple device charging done more quickly. There was a neat little electronic device to control the air conditioning, lights, alarm and do-not-disturb etc status indicators. The WiFi worked well and there was a good choice of TV channels. The decor is plain and clean but the artwork looked computer-generated. The huge, wide full length mirrors in the entry area added to the sense of space. However, it was a bit tight for my big wheeled suitcase. As is often the case at Mitsui Garden hotels, there was a lounge and small table rather than a desk. I'd prefer a desk but continue to stay in their hotels because of the other advantages! From my room I could see Tokyo Bay, the Rainbow Bridge, Sumida River, Hamarikyu gardens and its moats, and from the bathroom, Tokyo Tower. It was a pleasure to look through the windows. It was handy to have plates, knives and forks, wine glasses, a corkscrew, other drink glasses, coasters, large serviettes, and a retractable clothes line. Housekeeping was good with slippers, shower cap, body towel and shoe shiner not being thrown out on day 2! Such a waste when hotels train their staff to replace those things each day. The complimentary items included many face cleaning and nurturing products; beer, orange juice, cold green tea and sparkling water; black and green teabags and just the one drip coffee bag. PJs, bathrobes and slippers were provided for use while staying. I would recommend this hotel!

The front desk staff are very helpful. They could not do enough to help us both before and during our time staying there. The hotel is clean. Like others have said the double beds are tiny and not suitable for a couple - get a king. Rooms are also tiny. Very hard if you have luggage for a 3 weeks stay in Japan. The other thing that was a friction point and an annoyance was breakfast. Firstly every day they seemed unclear whether it was included in our rate or not (it was) and the staff feel it necessary to consistently remind you that the restaurant closes at 10am. They start reminding at around 915 am and multiple staff members will remind you. This eventually results in you feeling like you are being told to move on and get out. One morning we had finished eating but still sipping coffee and water at 1005 they came over for the 5th time and told us they simply must start setting up lunch. Very unwelcoming behaviour. Finally lack of gym is a disappointment and if we had noticed that prior to check in we would have booked somewhere else.
