Capsule and Sauna Century Shibuya

At the top of Dogenzaka hill, Shibuya Capsule Hotel is gaining popularity and the price is rising, although still great value at ¥4500-5000. Staff helpful, sauna and bath usable from 14:30 - capsules nothing special but have TVs, electrical outlets, wifi, and lockers. Apparently some kind of breakfast bread offered free early, but left before 7:00 when service begins. Beats a taxi almost always.

I arrived 9 am with my luggage (I announced that per email and the only answer was that I can't check-in before 12pm which is ok of course). I wanted to leave my luggage there, do some sightseeing and then check-in in the evening. But no, it was not possible to leave my luggage there and I even was not allowed to sit in the lobby to do some computer work until 12 pm. So I had to sit outside in the heat and waited. So I felt extremely unwelcome and regarding luggage storage: I mean even most of the shabbiest hostels have a place where you can leave your luggage.

Best value for money value in Shibuya - and prices are actually falling - this capsule hotel is only ¥4200 if you book on line, with wi-fi, tv, and most valuable - sauna and bath with all toiletries. Staff helpful and proactive, less than 5 minutes from Shibuya Station in heart of Dogenzaka; cheaper than the drunken taxi home, great for travelers who want one late night in Shibuya without curfew.
