InterContinental Tokyo Bay

I stayed at the InterContinental Tokyo Bay for a week in August 2026 on my first visit to Tokyo. Before arriving, I asked the reservations team if they could allocate a high-floor room with a good view. They kindly accommodated my request, and the view was excellent. This was very much appreciated. My arrival was very welcoming. It was exceptionally hot outside, and a member of staff immediately offered me a bottle of water when they noticed how warm I was. The lobby creates a good first impression, while check-in was quick and straightforward. I arrived early after a very long flight, so I was particularly grateful that my room was already available. The room was undoubtedly the highlight of the stay. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, modern and bright, with a huge and extremely comfortable bed. It was also very quiet, and the air conditioning worked brilliantly despite the August heat. The large bathroom was excellent, with a separate bath and plenty of amenities. There was a small tea service, although rather little milk was provided. Housekeeping was consistently efficient. They generally serviced the room between 10am and noon, and I hardly ever saw them - they came and went quickly while maintaining the room to a very high standard. The hotel’s location may not suit everyone, as it is slightly removed from Tokyo’s principal tourist areas and situated in a quieter business district. However, I loved it. There were relatively few tourists, the surroundings were peaceful, and I found everything I needed nearby. It was also well connected to the subway, making it easy to explore the city. Unfortunately, the hotel’s restaurants and other facilities were much less impressive. Chef’s Live Kitchen was incredibly disappointing, including a limited selection of hot breakfast items. Zillion was expensive, while the experience at Hudson Lounge was very hit-and-miss. Staff sometimes appeared confused and were often not always confident when dealing with international guests. For a 5 star Intercontinental, I'd expect the standards to be higher. One notable exception was Riku, a captain, who was excellent - genuinely friendly, capable and welcoming. His approach represented the standard of service I would expect throughout a hotel at this level. If all the staff had been like Riku, it would have been a 5 star review. The range of leisure facilities also felt limited. Overall, the hotel charges five-star prices, and the room absolutely felt five-star, but the restaurants, facilities and consistency of service did not always reach the same standard. I would nevertheless stay again because I loved the room, the view and the peaceful location. With better staff training and more consistent food and beverage service, this could be a truly outstanding hotel - as it stands I'd the room is outstanding, but the rest falls a bit short of that.

This is a wonderful hotel. Fantastically located on the water it offers stunning views of either the river or bay. Everything about this hotel is incredible, the service, restaurants, bar/lounge, house keeping, reception, concierge, portier service all is top class. It’s great for international guests with the hotel staff speaking multiple languages. We had a wonderful stay whilst in Tokyo and can highly recommend this hotel for a memorable experience.

A very well run hotel , it shows in spirit and attitude of all people who work there Very few places in the world have this positive vibe that this place has It will be my prime place to consider whenever Tokyo is in the itenary The hotel has the best location this side as per me , you just can’t miss the beauty of the bay . Walk down to the pier and the beautiful bridge The lounge area is absolutely excellent along with the very practical patisserie by the side . Only if the menu of the lounge could be more international after 5:30 as well , but that is a call to the management as business comes first . Please keep the ambience intact . The breakfast I would say is quite sensible and well served and laid , something that every Tokyo rather Japan hotel lacked were the bread in terms of lavishness and quality. This place was better in those terms , the croissant basket service was a good good thought . The view and ambience is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The rooms are quiet and greatly comfortable , I would rather say one of the most well lit and greatly thought about , this is what shows the interest put in to the details . There is one thing that was observed , the outside porch bell staff is very very courteous and the young boys who keep welcoming you Opening the doors of the taxi is one thing , but if you see a woman or guest with bags to be taken care of you just don’t let her sit in the taxi take her load and you stand by the door , that’s not chivalry , this is not a negative , as this is something many city hotels need to play well Overall this hotel has reinstated my interest towards IHG rewards as well , and I mean it , I had put them to backbench as so many of other privileges to take care of .
