Recently, there are many beautiful and luxurious lodgings, but this is one that is not palatable to tourists. It was a stay in October, but the temperature was quite low. The morning shift felt good.

The most expensive and worst accommodation we have experienced (6 people) on our entire 18 day trip to Japan. It is not the simplicity of the premises that bothers, but the unfriendly way in which you are welcomed and brusquely reprimanded, for example, if you put your shoes down incorrectly or arrive 1 minute early for dinner. Far from the Japanese polite way. We've only seen two monks. The morning ceremony with the two was still nice. Unfortunately, you get little to no information about the daily routine and even when you check out you see no one. We stayed 2 nights. The food was very good. But the feeling of being unwelcome overlays the spiritual experience.

The Saimon-in is well located in the middle of the village, right next to the bus station.
The facilites however are not in proper shape (and for sure not according to the price): the bathrooms are dirty.
Even if additional fees for a private toilet are paid, it’s unfortunately not clean.
Staff is unfriedly.
We can not recommend this location.
