I check out 5.30 am tomorrow. I dont write many reviews but this hotel exceeds expectation. The staff scoped on attention to visitors and were of design in essense. Loved the atmosphere and keeping it close 😄

Buffet meals were one in the morning and one at night, but the hot springs in the river were interesting. Please experience it. The open-air bath is mixed-sex, but women have to wear gowns and men have to wear hot water clothes like shorts. Most of the people in the open-air bath were foreigners from Europe and America, and the water temperature was a little lukewarm. The inner baths are separate for men and women.

We spent two nights here as part of our Kumano Kodo, staying in a nice 7th floor room with great views over the river to the forested hills. The two outside onsen pools were a great way to unwind after a long days walk, relaxing in the thermal baths looking at the river with occasional black tip kite flying by. The food for dinner & breakfast is buffet style with plenty of options to suit all tastes. Staff were uniformly lovely, with plenty of English spoken to help us westerners out. Recommended
