Thank you I stayed here for one night on a trip to Yamaguchi Prefecture. I had high expectations for the ryokan last time, so I didn't want to have too high expectations this time... This hot spring ryokan, named "Mountain lodge" in the mountains, was very satisfying. First of all, as soon as we arrived by car, a woman in a kimono greeted us and immediately carried our luggage. (By the way, when we returned, a woman in a kimono was waiting for us the whole time we were checking out, and saw us off with our luggage.) While waiting to check in, we took a break with matcha tea and sweets in the spacious lounge. The room we were shown was a bed room. It seems to have been renovated just last year, and the storage facilities were very nice, and the bathroom had a large sink, and it was clean and beautiful. We made a reservation for the astronomical observatory at night, but before that, we were told that the river nearby would be lit up, so we took a walk while shining the lanterns that had been prepared for us. The stepping stones in the river were colorfully lit up and it was very fantastic. When we returned to the ryokan, a band was playing in the lounge. The evening meal was beautifully presented and delicious, but even for us who don't eat much, it was a little unsatisfying. I also thought it would be better if the breakfast wasn't a buffet. Other than that, I thought it was a ryokan that really cares about its customers, both in terms of customer service and the facilities.

Due to the Mine Line being suspended due to heavy rains in 2023, take a substitute bus from Nagato City Station and get off at Nagato Yumoto Station. You can reach your destination in about 20 minutes on foot. A large building with a luxurious feel along the river. Used for day trip bathing. First, we had lunch in the lounge next to the front desk, clubhouse sandwiches and coffee. Perfectly toasted bread, bacon, fried eggs, plenty of vegetables, and delicious aurora dressing. There is a large public bath, a slightly small but moderately high temperature sauna, and two open-air baths that are surrounded by trees and are great for lying on the bed while enjoying the sound of the river.

There are good and bad points. The service was perfect. Disappointing points: Bringing bath towels from your room doesn't feel luxurious. The variety of food was limited, there were few side dishes for breakfast, and only a small dish of grilled fish. The nighttime live performance was awful! It seemed like the only person who was satisfied was the karaoke singer! His voice was too quiet and it was hard to understand what he was saying! They should either quit or get someone else to do the live performance.
