Ashiwada Hotel

A hotel that is supposed to be of a high standard, at a considerable cost. We arrived in the afternoon after a day of traveling and intended to go to the onsen to relax in the evening, 10-15 girls arrived and the place turned into a pool party. There was no point in staying. It turned out that a group of teenagers, boys and girls, were staying at the hotel. In the morning we went down for breakfast and were surprised to find very little Western food, despite their statement. We asked for an omelet because the eggs were scrambled after all the teenagers, we were met with a rude refusal. When we turned to the reception manager who did not know English, there was no one to talk to and he did not help that we actually had nothing to eat except yogurt and some fruit. We asked for a manager, he is on vacation. In summary, a disappointment.

You can enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Kawaguchi right in front of you at an affordable price. Enjoy the view to your heart's content from sunrise to sunset! There are almost no people around, and you can hear the birds chirping. The hospitality of the inn is just right and comfortable. The open-air hot spring bath can be used as a reclining bath, which is very pleasant. The wine bath inside also has a nice smell. I'd like to go again!

We stayed one night in November 2018, just before heading home. Room: we had a large tatami room, enough to fit 4 adults and 1 child. The tatami beds were made while we had dinner. General atmosphere: the hotel is very clean, my child enjoyed her time at the kids area, which is very close to the dining hall. we let her go and play after eating so the adults can enjoy more chatting time. Onsen: Their onsen is at a newly renovated section of the hotel. Inside is spotless and spacious. The open onsen space is covered up by foster glasses to ensure privacy which is different to the clear glass photo shown on the management photos. Staff: staffs were friendly and went above and beyond their normal duties to help with our emergency car situation. Also having WIFI throughout the hotel is a big thumb up from us.
