Kozantei Ubuya

I think this was my favorite hotel of our 2+ week journey through Japan. We were so lucky that Fuji was out and about in June. We had a very large room on the 4th floor and loved sitting and looking out at the lake and the mountain. The outdoor bath was a highlight. We also thought it was great fun to put on our provided matching hotel clothing to walk around and eat dinner. The dinner and breakfast buffets were both very good with lots of variety. I really can't recommend Ubuya enough!

Room view is beautiful! The first day to see the rain in the rain, and not to Mount Fuji, the sun rises on the second day to see a beautiful view Because I booked not to the private bath, only to go to public hot springs, the view of the public hot springs are beautiful, and there is a sauna The quality of breakfast and dinner is fine.

We stayed two nights at this hotel at one of the rooms with private outdoor hot bath. These are the things I wish I knew. 1. The hot bath in the room is just hot water. For real hot spring, you must go to the public bath. 2. They only serve buffet for breakfast and dinner. They only have 12 shabu shabu dinner option per day. You must select it when you make the booking and it’s first come first serve. 3. They do not clean your room everyday. They only replace amenities and towels. 4. There is no welcome snacks or drinks in the room. In summary, this hotel charges premium but only provides minimum services.
