Movenpick Resort Petra

I spent a few days at this hotel and it was a very good experience. First of all, it is a very, very beautiful hotel. The very oriental decor is well done. The staff is very attentive. We had forgotten to close a window of the car parked in the parking lot and they notified us immediately. The room was comfortable and always very clean thanks to Wassim, who was in charge of cleaning. And the icing on the cake is that the hotel is ideally located for visiting magnificent Petra.

This is the first time we (my wife, my 8 year old kid & I) stay in Movenpick Petra although it was not our first visit to Petra. Realizing the advantage of choosing this hotel starts as we stepped out of the bus in Petra, the hotel is only 2 minute walk from the bus station. The reception staff is very decent, professional & helpful, they offered us a smooth check in and a great room. (thanks to Dima, Marwan & Ahmad Al Hassanat). The hotel has a charming Arabian character with matches with the area it's located in, you can see this in every small details in the hotel. The room is spotless clean, modern, very well equipped with a great furniture (it has a sofa that you can turn into a bed which my kid liked most) and comes with a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Again, the location of the hotel showed it's potentials when we headed to visit the historical site in Petra. (the visitor center is just across the road from the hotel) The hotel offers a nice swimming pool where you can relax and have a drink after the effort you put during your visit to Petra historical site. Dinner was served at the roof top restaurant, it was a set menu instead of an open buffet. (I think this was due to the limited number of customers) Still, the food was fine and the roof top restaurant offers a great view over Petra. Note: Water at dinner is not included in your package if you booked a half board package. Still the hotel offers free mineral water in rooms. Breakfast was served at the main restaurant, it's variated, fresh, clean, very well served and the staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks Movenpick team for the great memorable time you offered us. And a special thanks to the hotel management that was able to maintain such a high quality of services even with this limited number of customers. Highly recommended Great value for money

👍 Everything. This hotel is simply outstanding. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed by a beautiful design, an authentic Middle Eastern atmosphere, and a delightful scent that immediately creates a sense of warmth and elegance. The property feels exceptionally clean, fresh, and well maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, spotless, and equipped with very comfortable beds, ensuring an excellent night's sleep after a long day exploring Petra. The rooftop grill restaurant deserves a special mention. The food is delicious and prepared to a very high standard, while the panoramic views over the city are absolutely stunning. In the evening, the lights create a spectacular atmosphere that makes dining there a memorable experience. We also appreciated the breakfast. Although it is not a self-service buffet, the quality of the food is excellent and the selection is perfectly adequate. Finally, the location is unbeatable: directly opposite the Petra Visitor Centre, making it the ideal base for exploring one of the world's most incredible archaeological sites. 👎 The only minor issue we noticed was that the shower drain could sometimes be slow, so it may be worth checking and maintaining it more regularly. The second point concerns the rooftop restaurant reservation process. Guests should be informed in advance that the restaurant offers a fixed-price menu (40 JOD per person), where the choice is limited to different grilled meat options, while the starter and dessert are the same for everyone. For families with children, it is worth asking whether alternative options can be arranged, as the portions are generous and the fixed-price menu may not represent the best value for younger guests. A suggestion for the restaurant would be to introduce a dedicated children's menu, which would make the experience even better for families. ———- Overall, an exceptional hotel that we would happily return to and highly recommend to anyone visiting Petra. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
