InterContinental Almaty

We stayed 2nd time with my mum and sister. Had wonderful holiday. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Hotel is so clean and beautiful. i would like thank Mr.Ibragimov at the front desk and Mrs.Gulbakhit and her team in the breakfast restaurant and Dariga from the lobby bar

This is a story about the extraordinary kindness, professionalism, and humanity of the concierge staff. Days after we checked out I realized that I had lost a small earring with sentimental value. On a long shot, I emailed the hotel, and was astonished that the earring had been found near the elevators and turned in, presumably by maintenance or housekeeping. The concierges helped me arrange for a courier to ship it back to me in the U.S. Instead of treating me like a nuisance, they stayed in touch, provided the information the courier required, and let me know when the courier finally picked up the package. All communications were warm and friendly. I will be forever grateful. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer at this elegant, opulent, and welcoming hotel. Visit Almaty, and stay at the Intercontinental. In every aspect, it was a beautiful experience.

I can't believe this is the #2 hotel in Almaty. They aren't doing anything wrong per se though there were hiccups in the service but there are better options for sure. The location isn't great as you are a bit isolated (That's part of the appeal for some I know) There is almost nothing to walk to and only one direction is open to walk. Getting an Uber there also always takes a few extra minutes as they access the property. Breakfast wasn't as good as cheaper options in the city. Had to send eggs back a few times to be cooked properly and the overall spread isn't up to the price. The lobby has kind of smokey creepy vibes which doesn't make it a pleasant place to walk through and you have to walk all the way around to get to elevators. The whole property is clean and maintained but definitely dated in style.
