Indigo House Hotel

Great location by the Night Market. Beautiful room with view of the Night Market and the Morning Market. Air condition worked very well. Very clean. Cafe downstairs have delicious food. Very helpful staff.

This log house-style hotel is located in front of the "Night Market" in the heart of downtown Luang Prabang, about a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport. Accommodation rooms are kept clean, although they look quite old, with an unusual structure with no partition between them and the bathtub. This time, I only stayed for one night between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, but as it was a New Year's celebration, guests were given free sparkling wine and those who were not good at alcohol were given a few soft drinks. On the way back, I couldn't get a shared taxi to the airport, so I asked the hotel front desk to arrange a tuk-tuk taxi, which cost about twice as much (about 1,200 yen).

Nice hotel, its basically a few rooms above a very nice cafe. The hotel is kind of a landmark as you can see it from the distance. Checkin was quick and room was spacious and quiet despite the cafe and night market being below. Hotel is at one end of the main strip oh Luang Prabang with Wat Xienthong at the other end around a 20 min walk away. Make sure to grab some pastries from the cafe or night market also. One thing hotel seems to have a few email addresses none of which they reply from unfortunatley so if you need to book a taxi, do it from the blue booth when you land it is very straightforward.
