Villa Chitdara

Beautiful colonial style property located 2 steps from the main attractions of Luang Prabang. The place is very quiet and somewhere calls for meditation at dawn when the monks pass. The rooms are comfortable and the bedding quality. The garden is very well maintained and offers a particularly soothing setting at breakfast time. As always in these countries, the welcome of the staff is top (kindness, availability...). We recommend with your eyes closed.

This is a great hotel, where we have a spacious room. With a balcony overlooking a nice garden where you can relax. Few sounds of the city. The beggar monks come walking down the street past the hotel at six o'clock. Furthermore, you are so on foot everywhere you need to be. Moreover, they have free, not unkind loaner bikes with seven gears, so location-wise it really couldn't be better. The room has plenty of space to store your belongings. Fine, spacious bed and a welcome care and appearance. There is a kettle, air conditioning, fridge, fan with timer and safe. The room can get a bit stuffy, but opening a door or going to the balcony is annoying from five o'clock because of the many mosquitoes. The shower is a bit old-fashioned with a boiler that does not always give even hot water. There is enough light available only at the cabinet where the safe is located it is a bit meagre. Decoratively it is not that special; the entire hotel by the way. Yet the whole thing exudes something colonial The Laotian staff is very friendly. Breakfast with all the basic Western and Asian breakfast alternatives, you will enjoy on a covered gallery in the garden. Good coffee, lots of choice of fresh fruit and the best baguette we had the whole trip in Laos. The hotel receives several small and medium-sized groups of Western tourists (French and German especially), but it is never crowded or noisy.
