Mezotne Palace Hotel

This hotel should not be rated as a traditional hotel, but a historical reconstructed manor. As such it is lovely preserved and a nice experience. The rooms are nice and the surroundings / views peaceful and beautiful. It will most probably make a perfect venue for a wedding or some other celebration! The only thing that bothered us were the squeky and rattling (metal spring) beds :) other than that - it was a lovely stay. A short distance (20 min drive) away from Pils Rundale (Rundale Palace) so perfect for a historic trip and overnight stay as well. the breakfast was plentyful (even a bit too much :))

If you are expecting to stay at a 4 star hotel, you will be very disappointed. This former Manor house is something else; located in the middle of nowhere though quite close to Rundale Palace; tidy, but quite simple rooms and personel more like at a family driven place than at a luxury hotel. We still liked it, especially the dinner - restaurant itself could have been cozier, but the food was excellent and wine prices affordable. The only thing disturbing the dinner was another guest clearly having a flu; sneezing and coughing constantly - at this covid time he should have been eating at his room. The personel did not do anything with the matter. Breakfast was kind of boring. They have a lot potential here; maybe the "luxury" will come later in the future.

We have stayed here in many occasions during the last five years. Our last stay lasted 36 days while visiting family nearby, in May to June. The place is managed by very friendly, embracing and respectable individuals. Robert, the Manager/Owner, runs the premises as his home, giving you all the attention and pampering unique to his establishment. Fabulous and very memorable stay. If you are looking for a quiet and intimate place, you found it at Mezotne Palace.
