Katse Lodge

Only stay if you desperate. We were passing through and accommodation was clean but old and run down. There is nothing to do or see in area other than the dam wall visit which we missed due to a tight schedule.

I generally try to evaluate a place according to what I paid, i.e. value for money. Katse Lodge is not worth the more than ZAR 1000/night they charge for accommodation. The “lodge” has an old dormitory feel.

Very basic accomodation and certainly no tennis courts or pools. The Katse Dam is also an hours drive away so only good thing on premises are the bar but at a price. Dont be fooled that the accommodation is on the dam.
