Van Vila

Simple, modern Pension in a very quiet location not far from the beach (300 m). Free parking behind the house with electric gate. Friendly welcome by Rita (speaks English and lives in a separate house on the property). Clean room with TV + free Wi-Fi. In the attic only 2 Velux windows for ventilation. Good sleeping comfort. Spacious shower room. Large, bright communal dining kitchen, but without stove (microwave and kettle only). Refrigerator and dishwasher OK. Little dishes and cutlery. No dry towels. Only partially suitable for making food yourself. Breakfast (scrambled eggs, croissant, coffee) costs 5 € extra. 3 days for trips to the area were pleasant.

There is absolutely nothing bad to say about Van Villa! 5 minutes by feet to a nice (empty, when we were there) beach, 15 minutes by bike to Klaipeda city center. We had a comfy two-bed-room with private bath (and a TV and fridge and air condition and hairdryer and...) in the first floor. Our bicycles were allowed to be parked in the garage. For breakfast you can choose between several delicous options, from eggs in every style to crepes. As some kind of gift everyone gets one of these yummy curd-chocolate-sticks! As we had to check out early but planned to spend the day curonian spit, we could leave our heavy luggage at Van Villa and pickt it up later that day. Rita, you are the best. The hotel is in Melnrage, one of the beach areas of Klaipeda. We stayed there during the sea festival weekend this year. The location is good, in a very quiet street at 5 minute walk from the beach, close to a beatiful forest. The beach itself is quite nice, the sea on the contrary is not very clean, Nida and even Palanga are a little bit better. The distance from the center is around 5 km. a 15 minute ride with the microbus. The Villa is beatiful, completely renovated in a very well way, everything seemed modern and made with very good taste. The triple room we stayed looked brand new and quite classy too, the bathroom also was new and very nicely looking but the shower door didn't close perfectly and the sink was microbic. One bed was a double bed very well sized, the third on the contrary was a small sofa bed that fit a child better than an adult, still i sleeped there and was pretty confortable, true it is that i was always very tired after the nights at the sea festival so i would have sleeped easily and confortable even on the floor probably... The reception was perfect, for the 2 and a half days we stayed the girl that worked there (Edita) was very kind and helpful with us. The thing we liked less was the breakfast room, it was quite a nice one but incredibly hot! The breakfast itself was ok and rich enough. The price is ok, we paid 200 litas for the room that is fair i think. On Klaipeda city center you would probably pay more for a similar high quality accomodation. I would suggest it for travellers that want good confort and a quiet location close to the nature and the seaside.
