Datai

This review is very late. We stayed at The Datai in April and it was our third visit to this amazing hotel. We stayed in a canopy deluxe room and also a Rain Forest Villa. Both were excellent but we enjoyed the Rain Forest Villa a little more for its location and extra space. Again, the food was sublime in all restaurants but special mention must go to the breakfast buffet that has to be the best we have ever experienced!😋 The Beach Club food and drinks were also amazing. Thank you to all the terrific beach club staff that looked after us so well especially Syahril and Tangguh who made the most delicious cocktails!🍹 The activities this year were also first class. Yoga classes with Laura were the best I have ever experienced. She is such an asset to The Datai. I also tried Fly yoga with Shinny. It was great fun and highly recommend!. I would also like to mention Ms Aika who is also such an asset to The Datai. She was always available to help in any way during our stay and does so with such a kind and caring manor. Lastly, we had a lovely conversation with the manager Stephane Duvacher. He is very friendly and always visible throughout the hotel. The standards are consistently high which is very rare in today’s top hotels. The Datai is our favourite hotel in the world and we will hopefully be back!!!❤️

Thank you so much to the entire team of The Datai for these incredible three days. I travel a lot and have been to many outstanding hotels around the world. And I can probably say that The Datai was one of my most powerful experiences. Probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. There's one interesting thing. When everything is perfect, the brain automatically starts looking for something to pick on. This is where I really tried to do it. I couldn't. The Datai is not trying to surprise with luxury on display. Everything here is very peaceful, natural and so harmonious that this is probably what real luxury looks like. Architecture, design, service, attention to detail – all made with great taste. But what impressed me most was the place itself. The hotel is literally drowned in an ancient rain forest that is millions of years old. Waking up to the sound of the jungle, walking among huge trees, meeting monkeys, birds and rams is an incredible sensation. Thank you to the entire team of The Datai for their sincere hospitality. Very rarely are there places you don't want to leave at all. For me, The Datai has become just that.

This was our third stay at The Datai, and somehow we’re so glad we decided to return. Back for the third time, and it feels even more perfect now. The warmth of every staff member is what keeps us coming back, they make us feel so welcomed, like we’re homeee ❤️ And the food was still amazing, as always. One thing I truly admire is the Management. You can really tell how well the Management care for their people and it shows in the way of every staff hosts their guests with genuine smiles and kindness. As people say "when staff are well cared for and protected by management, they don’t just work - they serve with heart". You can really see the sincerity and pride in their face, and it shines through in every guest experience. The Datai is a beautiful example of that. 🤍 We'll definitely be back. 🤍 Shoutout to Encik Shaiful, Adib & Fadhlan (they still remember us!), Azhari & Faris from the Beach Club, the sweetest Anne Handalus, Wafiey, Pak Jo, Afiq and Ismail.
