Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort and Spa Langkawi

Pelangi was just 10-15mins fron the airport and located at the main beach area for water sports. Room was clean but some of the amenities may not be at the tip top condition. Overall, a relaxing and fun place to stay.

Great trip to Malaysia. The resort is very clean and peaceful and the beach is also very clean and the sand is soft. We had no issues with jellyfish as it was not the season. There are all kinds of water recreational opportunities on the beach, such as parasailing, jet skis, etc. The food was good and there are some nice restaurants nearby as well. This resort had many people from all over the world. It's a very international resort.

Travelled as a couple and an older teenage daughter and would highly recommend this hotel and resort. Family room: Pros - all the rooms in the two floor villas are the same, but the family rooms all have a smaller enclosed balcony (regardless of whether you have a sea view or lake garden view) to allow for an extra queen size bed which makes it very comfortable for the third person. Large bathroom and great shower. Cons - the wardrobe is in the bathroom and the clothes did feel damp. Limited hanging space and drawers for 3 people. If you are bothered by noise, request an upstairs room. We were on the ground floor and for 3 nights had very noisy children running around upstairs. We stayed for 10 nights and were only impacted by this family Half Board Pros - delicious! We could choose a starter, main course & dessert and two drinks from the menus in the two restaurants (Spice Market & Pelangi grill) and everything was included except lobster. Food at the Spice Market was amazing and the view of the beach from Pelangi Grill was beautiful. On the rainy nights it also meant we did not have to walk into town. Cons - we did not have any evening meals outside of the restaurant. There were a lot of eating places outside the hotel but a mix of backpacker cafes and beach restaurants. Pools - 2 good sized pools with a swim up bar serving snacks. We also used the beach sun loungers and enjoyed having the beach to ourselves. There are plenty and plenty of sun beds to choose from at all times even when the resort is almost full. The airport is close by, but the flights are all day time and you become used to them flying past. The staff were all brilliant, warm and hospitable. Arni cleaned our room with a smile, Siti in Spice Market was lovely and looked after us when the rain came in, and all the staff at Pelangi Grill & Spice Market were friendly and charming. Thank you to you all! We booked the mangrove tour and island hopping from the hotel and all of the excursions went smoothly.
