Cockroach's Nest!! Run! Despite the beautiful landscape, cleanliness is undeniably the most important aspect when renting accommodation! Barely laid on the terrace, we notice dozens of cockroaches walking around the terrace table... it’s really disgusting and clearly shows the presence of a cockroach nest. It’s not over, when I returned to the room a cockroach was also present on the bed... impossible to sleep there for me, the accommodation was infested with cockroach. That’s not all, to benefit from air conditioning, you have to pay an extra PER DAY. I can understand but it chilled me greatly (compared to other accommodations where the air conditioning is integrated in the payment given the heat, this air conditioning is indispensable). So, if you plan to stay 5 days or more, the price increases since the air conditioning is paid per day... I obviously reported all this to the owner (on the phone since she does not manage anything face-to-face, it is her employee on site who welcomed us) asking her to reimburse me given the state of cleanliness her deplorable housing, she refused to reimburse me and offered me in exchange a slightly larger room located literally 3 METRES from the housing infested with cockroaches. Once inside, there was a scent of enclosed (no one had rented it for a while and I understand why), bouquets of flowers were present but all withered with their petals on the table and the mosquito nets were filled with insects ... that says a lot about cleaning. Not paying me back and offering me a room that is borderline worse than the first, is really gross. We go on vacation to be quiet and rest in a suitable place and not to be stressed and disgusted. I am really disappointed with this property and do not recommend it!

Langkawi has miles of magnificent beaches so why go to Sunset Valley, surrounded by cows and 30 minutes from the beaches. Renting a vehicle is essential. Please note, air conditioning is extra. I paid 10 nights in advance. I wanted to leave the next day but no refund. I lasted 5 nights then gave away the rest, i.e. 5 nights. The owner did not hesitate to ask me for 8 euros for my incidentals!!! While my gift represents several hundred euros. Finally, I didn't use the swimming pool because it's ridiculously small if there are more than 4 of you. Think carefully before burying yourself in sunset valley. Plenty of hotels much more suited to Cenang with white beaches for miles. At sunset valley some bungalows are pretty...

Having stayed in the traditional malay houses previously, this time we tried the modern villas they also have. The hosts were friendly and extremely helpful again. The villa was amazing. Incredibly hi-spec with lots of thoughtful details. An excellent choice for a family or friends get together. Very peaceful. Hope to be back soon.
