Der Quellenhof

I lived in this area for a certain time and Bad Helmstedt used to be my favourite getaway place so when looking for a hotel near Helmstedt this one was a logical choice. It doesn't look really tempting from outside besides its amazing location next to the lake. But I was very nicely surprised by a hotel quality. So bad I visited it during Corona time when traveling is so limited. Except rooms there was nothing open for guests and even the reception was not occupied most of the time. But everything was well prepared for guests arrival and there was no problem with service. My room was simple yet comfortable and very clean. Obviously renovated recently. Breakfast was rich. I had to eat it in my room but had enough of everything, including coffee, juice, choice of ham and salami, cheese, jam, honey... In those short occasions I could talk to the staff they were very friendly and helpful. I hope the hotel will be open when I travel to Helmstedt next month and I can use their service again.

The Hotel is very outdated and needs some serious restoration! We preordered food and everything, but still waited 90 minutes to get the starters! Don’t expect any internet connection!!!! Go anywhere else!!!!!!!!!

Far from city location, actually it's near some forest area. Quite good (traditional) food & beer. It will be nice if you plan to stay far from city and have your own car. I got there during autumn, and the room was warm enough. If you want to stay in traditional germany house, this could be your choice.
