Smokehouse Hotel And Restaurant

The Smokehouse sells itself as an English style institution for afternoon tea. In reality, the building is in poor repair and its all rather dated and scruffy. Afternoon tea, well it's average at best. Surprisingly we still enjoyed the experience.

Large room, nicely decorated and extremely clean. The bathroom was large, with all the amenities necessary. Very good staff, very polite and extremely helpful. Must try the afternoon tea, the scones are just amazing. Try out also the restaurant and the breakfast was also remarkable.

We chose this hotel based on the photos and reviews, but the experience was very disappointing. The room did not match the photos, lacking the expected comfort, and the bathroom was in poor condition with an unpleasant surprise inside. It was the most expensive hotel of our stay in Malaysia, yet by far the most unpleasant. Advertised as a high-standard establishment, it has neither the quality nor the service. This is the most expensive of our stay in Malaysia and yet the most unpleasant. Presented as a luxury establishment, it has neither the Quality nor the Service. Catastrophic value for money.
