This was a mixed stay.
The good part is the location, which is excellent, and the building itself is a nice heritage property. From the outside, the hotel looks quite charming. We arrived early and the reception staff were kind enough to store our luggage and told us the rooms would be ready around 2:30pm (standard check-in is 3pm), which we appreciated. When we returned later, the rooms were ready as promised.
However, we had booked two rooms and one of them was very small and extremely dated. The furniture, bed, and TV are old and could really use an upgrade. The shower, on the other hand, was surprisingly good with strong water pressure.
That room was located on the ground floor right next to the reception, and noise was a big issue. You can clearly hear conversations and activity from the reception area. On the second night, we were also woken up by loud noise from upstairs, like people partying. While that isn’t directly the hotel’s fault, it does show how poor the sound insulation is, probably due to how old the building is.
Another downside is the lack of basic amenities. There is no fridge in the room, which is inconvenient if you need to store water, medicine, or anything that needs refrigeration.
Even small things felt outdated — the room key was given in an old paper key envelope that looks reused many times, which didn’t feel very hygienic or professional in a modern hotel.
Overall, the hotel is okay if location is your main priority, but I strongly recommend comparing prices before booking, as you may find better-equipped hotels for the same price.
