Marco Polo Hotel - Tawau

This hotel is OK, in the city center. It is convenient for eating and shopping. But the facilities are old. It is like a five-star hotel in the past. The price-performance ratio is OK. The breakfast provided is a simple breakfast delivered to the door. I stayed for 8 days. The staff service is still very good. They are warm and friendly. They provide the required services. However, the restaurant service is suspended. Other rest facilities are also suspended. It would be better if they are all open. The environment is quiet. The room is clean. Coffee and mineral water are provided. If you stay here, it is recommended to go to Tawau Mountain Hot Spring for fun. The environment here is beautiful and the entrance fee is only 10 Malaysian ringgits. It is more than 100 times cheaper than the Iceland Hot Spring I went to before, but the hot spring water quality is the same. There are monkeys and various birds accompanying the hot springs here, which feels really free and easy.

Stay in Deluxe room, spacious, ample solid wood furnishing, bed, sliding wooden door curtain gave a antique warm feel, bathtub was a treat, many newer hotel wouldn't have bathtub for RM150 per night, marble bathroom floor and sinktop, looks wee b it aged but functions well. Personally for environmental friendliness, it is better to maintain quality aged furnishing in hotel rather than continuously dismantling older furnishing to change to new ones which likely to be of less quality, like no longer solid wood or marble. Lobby and breakfast area also have marble floor, lavish chandelier, wood frame walls. Breakfast though limited choice was quite tasty. Just one suggestion: please provide milk for coffee rather than just using creamer pack.
