We didn't feel uncomfortable in the room itself, even though it was only moderately clean (we found a piece of clothing from previous residents) and WiFi only worked in the hallway. You can go to a nearby supermarket and sit in the pool area in the evening. However, we all found the unacceptable breakfast to be quite off-putting: no buffet, toast only browned on one side (or rather: burnt), packaged butter, jam and grayish scrambled eggs. A small bowl of fruit was provided. That was it.

Rooms are very basic and old, no safe. Air conditioning only works on or off, no settings available. A dog is tied up on a short leash and barks irregularly at night. Food is awful, breakfast is extremely poor. Staff are uninteresting and unfriendly.

Whoever is in charge of the rules at the restaurant and pool need to look at their policies and make them more guest friendly. First they said no outside drinks at the pool, which would have been ok if they had attentive service, but we had to go to the restaurant to order in our bathing suits. Then the second round of Margaritas were half the size of the first ones. Then we made the mistake of eating dinner there and even though we were the only ones dining there they manged to continue the mediocre service and then charged us a decorking fee (descorche) for a a couple bottles of beer we brought to dinner because they did not have the brand we preferred. Yes, they actually charged us 35 pesos per beer to serve us our own beer. The facilities are nice for the price and front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but little hot water. I'd give the front desk 5 stars for service, because they truly were helpful, but the restaurant manger and staff really dropped the ball here.
