Boca Chica

"The hotel is dated with poor plumbing (toilet/shower issues). Rooms face a busy street: car horns and barking dogs start at 6 AM, making it hard to sleep. Reception is very slow; I asked 3 times to fix the safe, but nobody came. Food and restaurant service are good, but the building needs maintenance."

FYI, This hotel is closed and up for sale since early 2022. It’s on a private road with a manned security guard checkpoint. Was owned by Uniq Hotels, a cool boutique hotel group in Mexico. They spent a mint to renovate Boca Chica in 2014-15, but gave up on the property after just a couple of years. There is an interesting real estate video on YouTube walking through the property. My guess is that part of Acapulco is mostly for middle class Mexican tourists and locals. Might not have been the right spot for and upscale boutique hotel.

This was one of our go to places for the day when I owned a villa in Acapulco, and always had a great time. Snorkeling, great restaurant and great service. Really miss those days. That was years ago before they remodeled it by new owners. Ah great memories.
