Arecas Suites

This is truly a relaxing haven. Home away from home. Owners Pepe and Tere are the nicest people and are always ready to help and make you feel comfortable and cared for. The location is great, just a 3-minute walk to Playa La Ropa, the best beach in Zihuatanejo, Rooms are nice, CLEAN, and very comfy. Nice size pool and an overall eclectic environment to take you away. You are surrounded by nature and all the goodies nearby. I have stayed here several times. Trust me, you will not regret visiting because I am sure you will stay for longer!

We absolutely loved our time at Arecas Suites. Because we arrived at the beginning of November (not yet the high season) we essentially had the place to ourselves. The eight rooms all look out onto the pool and it has the feel of a botanical garden. As we lounged, we watched different species of birds, butterflies, and iguanas up in the trees. It's a short walk to La Ropa beach which is perfect for swimming and relaxing. Our room was equipped with AC, strong wifi (no TV but fine for streaming) and a kitchenette that included a fridge, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and a filtered water tap for drinking (which meant that with our refillable bottles, we never had to buy a plastic bottle). The room and property was spotless and there's an obvious pride taken by Pepe and Tere, the lovely and gracious hosts. We were recommended to stay by friends who are annual repeat guests and we will definitely be back.

As mentioned several times this is truly a hidden gem. You will not have the ocean view however you have a great pool/courtyard view and I cannot emphasize enough what a clean, well maintained oasis like setting it is. Cute outdoor kitchen and dining area and hammock👍 The owners are the sweetest couple .... make you feel very welcome and offer good travel advice. Short walk to the beach and many restaurants. Beds are a wee bit hard for my liking but that is just my personal preference and not a complaint. I would not hesitate to return.
