Puerta del Mar

The pool and grounds are awesome. Rooms are clean but in need of some major updating. The dishes and pots, pans and dishes are minimal. We have to request a toaster, glasses without chips and cups without cracks and a frying pan because ours had no Teflon left on it. Note that we booked through AirBnB.

Location was great, the grounds were nice. Main pools were also great! Just needs a bit more attention to detail. Wifi was spotty at best, hot tub empty and hasn’t worked in quite a while. Rooms were big, but could use updating. Two burner cooktop was nice. Great location though!

This hotel is less than a block from the main drag where all of the "big box" tourist resorts are located. It is in a large garden like setting. There are birds and flowers everywhere. Across the street is the artisan tourist market; walk through the market and you are at the beach. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Furnishings are very functional. All units have kitchenettes that are well stocked. And for groceries, there are two OXXO and a Mersa two blocks away There are multiple pools and one has a water slide. There is a restaurant on site, but we have never used it as there are so many delightful "loncherias" within walking distance. We stayed here 10 years ago and nothing has changed - that is a good thing.
