We stayed one night in this hotel, atypical and exotic that puts us in the atmosphere of the taxco town ideally located to walk around town. We liked the charm and atmosphere of this place.

Pros: Historical significance of the building, the mural sculpture by the pool and the underground silver mine below the hotel. Room had amazing daytime/nightime view of Taxco.
Cons: Room had no A/C. Bed linens and towels (only two) were old, dirty, stained and had holes/tears. Musty, dusty room with cobwebs, dead bugs, and hair from previous guests found throughout. Bathroom window directly next to toilet only had flimsy wood shutters that opened outwards directly into the hallway outside the room, so anyone in the hotel hallway could physically poke their head or hand in to the bathroom. Lighting was dim and one lamp did not work. We had to sleep with the patio doors wide open all night just to get some air flow in the sweltering room. Simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, stale bread and completely watered down coffee was inedible. No WiFi in the room. No elevator to get to second or third floor rooms. Have to walk slightly uphill and outside on cobblestone street to get from hotel lobby to hotel rooms, which is not ideal for elderly or handicapped guests.
We do plan to visit Taxco again but we would never stay here again and we would not recommend this place to anyone! It’s unfortunate because the historic building has so much potential to be a 5-star hotel under proper hotel management that could make the much needed upgrades!

Lousy! Good location, but dirty, no AC, no hairdryer and the bathroom share it with cockroaches. Very poor maintenance. The restaurant and the pool aria disgust you. The balcony door-window didn't close properly. And since it is a historic place it can be a very precious gem in Taxco, but NOT.
