The best thing about this resort was the grounds. Absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. Grounds keepers were amazing! Where to start? When we arrived the resort was about 30% full. We had requested pool or garden view, understanding you don’t always get what you request. Room was ok, a bit outdated but clean. Let’s get to the balcony. About five feet long and wide enough to put two plastic lawn chairs on, sideways. Sitting on the balcony, you couldn’t see over as it was all concrete. When you stood on the balcony, you got to look over the walkway that the locals used and got to watch them do their business.
Day two, we went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager, Christobal. We asked to be moved to a different room and he informed us, that for an additional 55.00 Canadian/night, they would move us.
Day three, we spoke to the NEXUS agent and he told us they should be able to move us, as capacity was only 30%. Received an email from him two days later and he said they would move us. Went to the front desk and the woman we spoke with, claimed to know nothing. Finally after she spoke with Christobal, they had a bellhop show us to a different room. Lo and behold, this time we would get to look over the roofs at the back of the resort. Needless to say, we decided not to let this ruin our holiday.
The staff were friendly, minus the front desk staff and a lot did go out of their way to help.
The à la carte restaurants were amazing, especially the Italian.
The resort is centrally located, within good walking distance to the Malecon.
Not a resort I would go back to.
