Hotel Florida

People who liked this hotel must have been spared from the Bar Miami, located on the second floor of the hotel. We couldn't sleep all night, kept awake by the loud mariachis and drunks until 4:00am. We didn't know about the bar when we checked-in, but next morning we realized it wasn't the only bar by the hotel. Yes, the hotel is clean and centrally located (though the rooms are very simple) but don't expect to sleep at all if you make the mistake of staying in it!

I have read the other reviews of this place. I don't doubt the negative comments, but our stay there was entirely positive. Our room was clean, it had a balcony (with a view of the cathedral), and hotel service was great. Its inexpensive, tiny restaurant was good, with homemade dishes. Its location is perfect, about 1/2 block from the cathedral. Outside was loud, but, hey, it was Morelia's primary holiday, El Dia De Los Muertos. The cost was low. A perfect place for a wonderful holiday! You naysayers should try speaking Spanish, and not expect the world to speak English for your convenience.
