Wow wow wow. Stunningly beautiful Pacific Ocean views. Amazing food. Everyone was so incredibly nice. Lots of (free) activities - yoga, nature walks, smores, cooking lessons, even fishing. Incredible spa facilities and gym. I loved our room which was on the water with soaking tub. Great music in the bar/lounge area. Several restaurants to choose from. It is very pricey. But if you can swing the cost, worth the splurge for a special weekend. Once I was here, I didn’t feel the need to take any excursions. Just being here, reading poolside, at the beach, in a spa soaking tub… all of it amazing.

We traveled here after a World Cup game in Guadalajara. Check in was a breeze and the room was impeccable. Liz was great with the boys on the beach and the game room was so fun for the kids as well.

8 night stay in a beachfront suite. The property is stunning. Views and beached are dramatic. Has more of a Hawaii vibe than a pacific coast feel. The grounds are immaculate, and the golf-cart crew are attentive. The staff in general are very polite and responsive. I knew going into the trip that 1) the rooms looked dated and 2) It's the Four Seasons, so ancillary costs are going to be high (food, beverages etc., car services etc.) Its not going to be a cheap vacation. But I am going to a premiere hotelier, a premiere property with the ultimate in service and facilities. Fast forward to post trip. The food, outside of two of the dinner restaurants, is inedible. Not "bad", inedible. And then throw in the FS pricing to give you an extra punt in the crotch. One attempted meal at the Mexican focused restaurant resulted in this disgusting, salty mess of dry meat-combo fajitas, and a half warm beer. Ok, let's just get through this and move on. Poolside food, two different times, clubhouse sandwich, Dry, inedible. Pizza, uncooked, then over cooked, but cold - just like the fries. Possibly because the service on the food was sooo slow. The cocktails, whilst expensive, were also terrible – sugary weak blah. In-room we tried the breakfast once. Never again. A salty undercooked and largely cold omelette...a terrible egg breakfast sandwich. So we ended up dining off-site every day. Taking a car service into Punta de Mita to dine at lots of excellent food options. Which became several of the evenings also. The Mediterranean and Asian restaurants are passable for dinner, but its all relative as there are simply better options in town. Another annoying part, which is trip specific, is the access to sports and other forms of entertainment. Again, this is a premiere hotel chain, serving predominantly to a Canadian and US customer-base. The Stanley Cup finals were on. There was no way to watch it. Had to go into town. The smart-tv casting system in-room is archaic and did not work for me on multiple occasions - so in-room entertainment is limited to basically nothing if you cannot cast. The FIFA world cup was also on, but they didn’t have the feed initially, and we were left watching it on some hacked pirated feed in low definition - so back to Punta de Mita. Theres NOTHING to do there on a rainy day - the spa? The gym is very good. Rooms exceptionally clean and well serviced - just old and ready for updating. I'm not going back. And I don’t see myself going to Four Seasons again anywhere. Literally had a bad experience with the quality of food at their Whistler property a week before - so I am done with this over-paying science experiment of Four Seasons – just like that. I would have had more fun and better food at a 3 star all inclusive!
