Calypso Hotel Cancun

AVOID THE HOTEL, the cleaning staff robbed us, and although they identified the thief, they did not take responsibility; not even the manager attended to us because it was his day off, everything was done over the phone but without any support, the treatment was terrible. Additionally, the rooms have a sewage smell, and they do not allow you to bring drinks or food to the lounge area; you have to consume from them forcibly. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

Simple budget hotel. One that's good for young people. For those who want to save as much as possible on accommodation without spending even on food. And taking breakfast only, for example. Which, on the whole, will be enough. It's a city hotel. It is located in Cancún, in the Playa Linda district, on the Boulevard de Cuculcan. So this is the beginning of the seven. There are a lot of different clubs, discotheques, restaurants near the hotel. Please note that this place serves American breakfast. It's usually toast, eggs and drink. Absolutely minimal food. If something is already above the level, there is a toll beach Mandala, 10 minutes or so on foot. This beach is near Coco bongo. In general, the choice for this hotel fell because we took it just for a few days to swim before leaving for a long tour of Yucatán. But the tour was just wonderful. It's organized the way it is. AVOID this place! We stayed in Cancun and needed an end of trip hotel before we flew out and mistakenly picked this hotel. To start we arrived around 12:30 and the front desk person told me that they don’t check anyone in until 3pm but if wanted to pay her cash she would let us check in early. So either the hotel or the staff is on the take either way it’s not a good start. We didn’t have cash so we decided to just walk around and left our bags with the staff. After we got back at around 2 we were told we had to wait, along with the other 5 families that were waiting around. At 2:30 I asked if it was close enough and I was told they would take the other families fist since they were there before us lol. After it was finally my turn, I was told there is a local city fee that needs to be paid so I said sure and handed her my Amex. She told me they don’t accept Amex, but when I pointed out the Amex sign sitting right on the desk, she took the sign and threw it away and said “we don’t take Amex”. After paying the fee I asked for my bags so we can go to our room. I was informed I would have to wait for staff to walk us to our room. I told them I was ok going on our ow but she ignored me and went back to watching YouTube and ignored me. I asked again and was told I need to wait for staff and they wouldn’t give me my bags until then and went back to signing along with the music video playing on YouTube. Finally some staff meant showed up and walked us to our room and stood in the room for about 5 mins watching tv and after me insisting we didn’t need anything a few times he finally left the room. The toilet was broken, the shower pressure was an awesome choice between hot water and no pressure, or warming water and slightly better pressure. The have no wash clothes, they do give you one hand towel and we had blood on our bed sheets. Elevators were hot and smelly and sounded like they might stop at anytime. There is nothing redeeming about this hotel and you are def better off finding something else.
