Haina Hostel

Hostal Haina is a perfect location if you decide to spend sometime in Cancun downtown or want to stop for catching a flight / bus. We initially booked it for one night before heading to playa del Carmen but extended it for 2 nights. It's clean, very nicely located. Just outside the hostal there is a local plaza which abuzz with activities in the evening and have lot of locales flocking together - you can listen to local Mexican artists while eating local Mexican food. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially the owner Melina. She is very helpful and considerate, patiently answers to all questions that a traveler may have! She speaks good English. Breakfast is simple and basic (breads, croissant , butter, jam, tea and coffee). Only hitch was the bed in the private room, i felt it's little small for two average height people and felt damp. It could be because of the weather too! But overall good and basic place to stay.

Just came back from Cancun and stayed 2 night in Haina Hostel. For the price, we couldn't complain and it was just near to the food area. The bed was very small for the double bed but we survived. Staff was very friendly and helped us to find things around. Breakfast wasn't great, Early in the morning I steep up for the breakfast but it was just regular bread and concentrate juice on the jar.

We hadnt booked a room before arriving, bit there was no issue getting a private room om the spot. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel. We hadnt our own bathroom with good Waters pressure. Fernando is a sweet elderly man who works in the reception and is soo nice and friendly. Basic hostel breakfast and coffee. Ps: Beware of low hanging fan om the room. Accidentally copped my fingers when changing clothes.
