Here's the PROs and CONs as we saw them. The intent is to help future 1st timers coming to this resort. We booked through a diamond member who was travelling with us at the same time. Thus we stayed at SunRise and got the white bands with unlimited access to Nizuc and The Grand. Our member was on a Facebook Group. She was amazing and ensured we had a great trip. If you book with a diamond member and they're there with you, this is what you get: Your Diamond benefits include: • GoMoon transportation within the resort. When you have white wrist bands, you can ask the bellboys for private carts to take you around everywhere. Or use the app but it's rare to get one. The carts say "diamond" on the front. All other guests will use carts at the stops around the hotel. • Complimentary hydrotherapy access at any spa. Take swim shorts with you and a cart will take you there from the lobby. • Access to the Diamond Lounges. Mostly high end booze and private areas. We didn't use it much. • Complimentary access to The Grand and its facilities incl waterpark and restaurants. • Priority seating at restaurants (subject to availability if you don’t have a reservation). You need to show your wrist band when there so they know this. • 3 hours of complimentary bowling. We didn't do it but it's included. • Access to pool cabanas on a first-come, first-served basis. Lots available at SunRise. We used them everyday with the kids. • Preferred Diamond seating at the evening shows. • Complimentary round-trip airport transportation. • Complimentary MANI/PEDI at spa. Go to the vacation people to book this. It's two 25 min sessions of each. • Complimentary 25 min massage at the golf course. Go to the vacation planners to book this and go early so you can use all the facilities incl sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge. Presentation and Resort Credits: by booking with the member we got 1500 resort credits. By sitting through the 90 minute presentation, we got an additional $420 palace Dollars. You can use your resort credits at the spa, golf course, excursions and gift shop. You still need to pay the 16% on these items. However, if you have palace money, you can use this to pay the tax. For example, I used 100 resort credits to buy a $100 at the gift store. The $16 tax, I used my palace dollars. You can also use palace Dollars to buy cash for cash items in the gifts shops and spa. Pool - at Sunrise, many of the pools at Sunrise have missing tiles on the floor base. I saw this in other reviews before I left but didn't realize how dangerous it can be. We saw one girl cut her foot while playing in the pool. The lifeguard came, bandaged her up and left.... like he does this all the time. Restaurants - all great with authentic food. You book through the app and usually 2 days in advance as they book up quick. If you have the white wrist band, you can book at all three properties. Laundry - it's 35$ for a bag of clothes up to 22 lbs. If you have palace dollars, you can pay through that. If you put in the request before 10am, they will pick it up and return it before 7pm the next day. Overall - this place is huge. It took me a day to sort out all of our perks. In our opinion, Moon Palace in Cancun is a 3.5 out of 5. It's definitely not worth the advertised prices on the website. It's definitely good to book with a diamond member who's travelling at the same time; and booking through a member is much cheaper. If they're not on the trip with you, book with them and stay at the Grand. Then you get most of the same perks. Also, just as a caveat, not all Diamond members have the same perks... So make sure to clear all this before you book. They will pressure you during the presentation. They start with breakfast, walk you around the different rooms and then sit you in an office to go over numbers. First person will be in the 6 figures. If you say no, the next person they send you to is around $10k packages. If you say no to this, then the 3rd and last person tries to pitch you the $299 package. If you say no to this, you'll have to figure out how to leave as they just give up on you. There's employees around that will guide you to the golf carts. We just put on our 90 minute timer and told them we wanted to leave. Also, they give you Palace Dollars or free passes to the Grand. It all depends on which member you book with and the perks they have.

Moon Palace was nice with a cool breeze for morning lessons. Adan is a great golf teacher and enjoyable to learn from. Will definitely be back for more lessons from him.
