The Palm at Playa

If you want to stay right in the 5th Avenue area, this hotel is for you; however, you have to take into account that there is too much noise and you won't be able to sleep until 3 or 4 in the morning, the room they gave me smelled like marijuana, the hotel is old, the elevator worked only occasionally, the bathroom faucet handles were green (from mold), there were no towels for bathing (I used the ones from the bed decoration), and finally THE SERVICE FROM FERNANDA AND SAMUEL AT THE FRONT DESK was terrible....

Very well positioned with just a 2 minute walk to 5th avenue and with a view from the rooftop swimming pool over the see this small hotel is excellent value. all the staff are very welcoming, discreet and never bother you. Incredibly quiet despite being near the action with a tropical courtyard that makes you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle form your balcony. August is off season and there must have been a maximum of 10 people in the actual hotel itself leaving us with the swimming pool to ourselves most days. as there was quite a lot of sargassum at the time we were there this came in very handy. The breakfast is simple with cereal, toast, ham and cheese, tea and coffee but you are 5 minutes from anything else you might need. the rooms are very spacious and my husband, who is big and has trouble sleeping was able to start the night in our large bed then walk to the other side of our room where there was a larger than average day bed to finish off the night. we would definitely go back

We stayed with my friends in March of this year; at first, it seemed like a very nice hotel with good service. After a few days, it no longer seemed so nice, as upon returning from an excursion, we realized that there was a lack of dollars in our safe. Very distressed, we went to speak with the manager, who told us that this was impossible. We requested the opening record of the safe, but it was denied, as he had no way of having that record since the management was new at that hotel. From that point on, our trip changed drastically, as we had the money to do what we wanted, but we could not move much due to a lack of funds. On the other hand, he also did not call the police, which was what we intended to clarify the problem. We had to go ourselves to file the report and waste an entire day with the prosecutor. To this day, we have no response at all; they only say that it is in process, and more than two months have passed. I would never stay at that hotel again. Our experience changed from being a beautiful place to feeling unprotected all the time. I do not recommend it.
