Be Playa

We had a fantastic stay at Be Playa. From day one, the vibe was welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely friendly. The front desk staff were awesome—helpful, upbeat, and made everything easy. It never felt transactional; it felt human. The rooftop was a huge highlight. Great views, great drinks, and honestly, great people. We ended up making friends with the guys working the rooftop bar, which says a lot about the atmosphere here. It’s social without being forced, fun without being chaotic. Location-wise, you’re right in the mix—close to everything, walkable, and perfect if you actually want to experience Playa instead of hiding in a resort bubble. One honest heads-up: there is a club across the street and music on the rooftop, so things can get loud late at night. If you’re a super-light sleeper, just bring earplugs and you’re golden. For us, it was a small tradeoff for the energy and location. Bottom line: we loved the staff, loved the vibe, loved the experience—and we’d absolutely stay here again. Be Playa feels less like a hotel and more like a cool place run by people who actually care.

I wouldn't recommend booking this hotel. After reading terrible reviews about it, I emailed the hotel twice to confirm my reservation, requesting a quiet room and they did not respond to my emails. That just goes to shows how great your stay would be.

Absolutely criminal situation going on here. No hot water, barely any water pressure. Loud, LOUD music from noon till 3am every day. The insult to injury, try to go to the bar that prevents you from sleeping to have a beer. They want to extort an extra $20 from you just to enter. I've been to over 90 countries. This is the worst most 3rd world experience I've ever had. In a civilized place this hotel would be shut down within 24 hours. This "hotel" should be condemned.
