Azteca Inn

This hotel caters to mid to low spending travelers. The rooms are just adequate. When we checked in there was a giant spider on the wall, as big as my hand. Don’t let them put you in a room near the pool, as the noise level is too high if you plan to sleep. The pool was closed around 10:00, but my neighbors and children parked themselves directly outside my door and created an obnoxious ruckus. I was forced to step out and ask them to move on. Don’t drink the drinking water they provided. The water tastes bad, like it came out of the tap. The breakfast is good, fast and friendly service, the food was very good.

All the recent reviews are accurate. Very budget friendly. The one thing I didn't see mentioned is WIFI. It sucks. If you're next to the lobby it's okay, but everywhere else it's no bueno. Upload/Download (when working) are around 0.1 mbs each way. It's worse than dialup. Had to use my data plan. :( Room by the pool was vary noisy but that stopped around 9pm (Pool Closes)

We only made it to the parking lot at this Hotel, as our friends from Canada ( who have spent three months annually in Mazatlan for the past fifteen years) took us to the little bar onsite named Arturo’s. Yes, it is owned and operated by one fellow named Arturo, whose specialty is servicing fresh an`d delicious alcohol infused slushies / milkshakes. Everyone that we saw in the bar on the two days that we went there were drinking either these milkshakes, or beer. This is a special place for sure, a hangout for the locals ( actually, for the most part, Canadians who winter in Mazatlan). The only warning I have is that these milkshakes go down real quick, and we consumed three of them each before we realized how potent they were. Cash Only.
