Mocambo

I would give it 3 stars, but unfortunately the hotel has degraded a bit: 1. The quality of the food at the restaurant is poor. Not what it used to be. I was told the restaurants are now operated by an independent company. Breakfast buffet is no longer included. The drinks at the pool are very bad (quality and quantity) and expensive. Not a good combination for regular customers. 2. The hotel is “hosting” several cats (I saw at least 10 kittens and 2 or 3 adult cats). The cats are not feed at all, there is no drinking water for the poor creatures (Veracruz’s weather is very hot). Once the pool is closed at night the kittens have to drink water from it (full of chlorine and other chemicals) 😕😕😕 3. The rooms are cleaned enough, but the linens (bed sheets and pillows) look very old, including the towels. On the positive side, the hotel is located just across the street from the Mocambo beach. The view at night from the balcony is beautiful. The pool is descent, especially for little kids. The staff is really nice! All of them! 🙏 Somehow worthy for the price

Actually, I don't recommend it at all. The hotel is in a terribly dilapidated state, all rusty, unmaintained and with very poor service. Every time you ask for something, anywhere in the hotel, it takes forever. I arrived to check in at 8:30 pm, went out for dinner and it just started raining hard. When I returned, the room was totally flooded. I went for help and they did absolutely nothing. In the night almost there is only the guard. There was a leak in the closet and all my clothes got soaked. The next day I asked for assistance and they barely deigned to dry the water a little. And as if that were not enough, breakfast is not even included, the price is very high for what they offer and the food is of very low quality. I have the reservation for a week and if I could go somewhere else, I would do it without thinking. Total disappointment.

It was once a beautiful hotel but that was a long time ago. It's a shame that they have neglected everything so much. The price of the rooms is way too high for what is offered. There is a large swimming pool, but people from outside the hotel can also use it. Sometimes crowded. And there is no WiFi anywhere, not even in the reception.
