Posada San Jorge

This Hotel is right in the centre of the city with lots of activities going on around it. It is old and needs some serious renovating but it was clean enough. It has so much character that a restoration would be awesome! The beds were very hard and had no mattress cover on them which kind of grossed us out but the sheets smelled like bleach so that made us feel better. ;) The staff was friendly enough and the free wifi was very strong! Not sure we would stay here again but might consider it because of the convenience if we are ever in Durango another time.

Beautiful old colonial building, problem is that everything inside seems to be the same age, the suite gave me the creeps! Besides that all the personnel was extremely nice and helpful, we requested a fan and it was brought to us inmediately, they kept all the cheese we had bought in refrigeration, they go beyond their duties to make your stay comfortable. The hotel is cheap and well located. Besides reading that Durango was among the most dangerous cities, we felt safe walking day and night around! Never thought we would find such a beautiful town! The parking lot is one block away and you have to ask for the key to open the gate

Wonderful old fashioned hotel in excellent location, very close to the plaza and the cathedral, beside a boulevarde. Also contains in the central covered patio a Brazilian type restaurant, very good value, and a coffee shop/cafe as well. Obviously no parking available on the premises, but there is a private car park close by. Rates very reasonable. Gas heating devize in the room for cool nights and a mobile fan for warmer conditions. My quarter (room 1) contained a bedroom and a small sitting room.
